Steph Routh is a candidate for Portland City Council in District 1 (East Portland).
Routh is a Principal at Steph Routh & Team, LLC, and an Adjunct Professor at Portland State University. She is the former Executive Director of Oregon Walks, a nonprofit dedicated to neighborhood walkability and street safety, and a former chair of the City of Portland’s Planning Commission.
A 2018 alumna of Emerge, a candidate training program for Democratic Women, Routh is also a 2024 graduate of the Oregon Labor Candidate School, a training program for pro-labor candidates.
Routh’s community service includes roles with the Jade District Policy & Equity Subcommittee, the Portland Bureau of Transportation Budget Advisory Committee, and the city’s Economic Opportunities Analysis Collaborative Working Group.
Her campaign website lists her priorities as community safety, shelter and affordable housing, climate action, and more responsive and accountable government. She has signed the ‘No Police Money Pledge,’ vowing to reject contributions and endorsements from police unions or associations.
