Sam Sachs is a candidate for Portland City Council in District 2 (North/Northeast Portland).
Sachs is the founder of The No-Hate Zone, a racial justice organization. His background includes working as a park ranger for the City of Portland, and serving as a member of the Portland Human Rights Commission and the Portland Committee on Community-Engaged Policing.
According to his website, Sachs’s priorities include addressing homelessness and establishing a sobering center, supporting community policing, and curbing gun violence. He also emphasizes the need to revitalize downtown Portland, partnering with other governing agencies to find solutions.
