Mike Marshall is a candidate for City Council in District 2 (North/Northeast Portland).
As the Director and Co-Founder of Oregon Recovers, Marshall leads a statewide coalition that supports Oregonians in recovery from addiction. He also played a significant role in the marriage equality movement in the United States and was named one of the top 100 most influential gay Americans by OUT Magazine.
Marshall served as the Campaign Manager for Oregon United for Marriage in 2013 and led Oregon Governor Kitzhaber’s 2014 reelection campaign.
His campaign website highlights his priorities as public safety, a sustainable future, and a vibrant entrepreneurial economy. Marshall specifically advocates for four new sobering centers, 200 additional detox beds, and 1,000 additional sober living beds. He is also a proponent of creating a taskforce to draft a tax reform ballot measure.
