John Sweeney is a candidate for Portland City Council in District 3 (Southeast Portland).
Sweeney is a mechanical designer with a background as a land management consultant and a Captain in the Oregon Army National Guard. He has previously held elected office as a director of the Multnomah Education Service District Board.
Sweeney’s priorities include clean air, homeless releaf, and enhancing public safety by increasing Portland’s police force, including the Police Reserve program.
