Elana Pirtle-Guiney is a candidate for City Council in District 2 (North/Northeast Portland).
She has previously held roles as Legislative Director and Policy Advisor to Oregon Governors Kate Brown and John Kitzhaber, as well as Legislative and Communications Director for the labor union AFL-CIO.
In 2022, Pirtle-Guiney led the coalition that successfully passed Measure 114, Oregon’s gun violence prevention ballot initiative.
Her priorities include livability, workforce development and affordability. She advocates for expanding access to housing and services related to substance abuse and mental health, and emphasizes the need to make government more effective and responsive. Specifically, Pirtle-Guiney supports initiatives such as the Albina Vision Trust, Portland Street Response, and the Portland Clean Energy Fund.
