Thompson is a front office manager at the Residence Inn hotel. With a background in urban planning, travel, and logistics, she calls herself a “Common Sense Progressive”.
Her platform focuses on tackling homelessness with specific actions like fully funding Portland Street Response for 24-hour operations and reopening mental health facilities across the region. She proposes implementing a five-year ban on nonprofits and agencies that fail to properly account for their funds and expanding the Downtown Business Incentive Credit Program to include employers with fewer than 15 employees. Thompson also aims to boost local businesses by increasing pop-up shops in vacant storefronts and hosting quarterly town hall meetings to engage directly with residents and address their concerns.
