Our mission
We analyze complex reform and policy initiatives to help Portlanders understand what’s on the table, and what they can do about it. Our goal is to support a transparent public process and to encourage a thriving, representative democracy that benefits all Portlanders.
Our independence
Rose City Reform is not associated with any political campaign, candidate, or party. We conduct our own in-house analysis, based on independent research and interviews.
Maja, Founder and Writer
Maja Viklands Harris is a journalist, democracy nerd, and policy analyst with 20+ years of experience advocating for a transparent and democratic public process. She started Rose City Reform in February 2022 to support civic engagement in Portland’s historic reform process.
